CBS News' personal blogging policy
All personal blogs written by CBS News employees must be approved by either Linda Mason, CBS News Senior Vice President, Standards and Special Projects, or Sean McManus, the President of CBS News. "We can't have people having personal blogs venting their opinions," Mason explained.

This is an issue of free speech vs. free press opinion. Many people say journalists should not put their opinion in a story. In fact a well known journalist and managing editor once said that a journalist should not be affiliated with any outside org. In fact this week is national freedom of speech week-lets celebrate free speech.

Opinion is not necessarily fact. The news media is saturated with "opinions". I want the facts and truth from a news story. I'll make my own opinions.
