TV Guide Canada is ending its print edition and will become a web-only publication.
Other publications that have recently abandoned their print editions and switched to solely online publication include the youth-oriented newspaper Dose and Teen People.

So I was still getting the tv guide or the one included in the local paper. I like to plan ahead and see whats on and decide what i am going to watch for the week.
And what about the people who do not have the internet?

Personally I think it sucks. I have purchased TV Guide ever since it came here I think in the 50's. It will leave a definite void in my tv experience.

I think it is realy stupid doing away with the tv guide magazine,what about the people who don't have a computer and the older people who rely on the tv guide,I think you are making a big mistake. Thank-You

I think tv guide should of asked the subscribing their opinions of this idea. I'm sure they would of found the most of the people think this is a silly thing to do. Who wants to go on the computer to view what's on t.v. - NOT ME!!! Very big mistake!

I am very disappointed with t.v guides decission to do away with the print version. My mother doesnt even know how to use a computer. I on the other hand only use the one at work or library. I dont have one @ home. I also like the fact that I got to view the week ahead and plan my viewing. This is very disappointing and I think a poor planned idea. I know that younger generations are very 'pro' internet, but the majority of viewers are baby boomers and older and not all have access to computers, either due to financial sitations or ability to use. What a shame that it has come to computer use only to enjoy a magazine

Will we be getting a refund if our subscription hasn't run out yet? Very disappointed. I agree, I do not have the internet at home and enjoy looking at the printed version. Now I have to find a computer when I want to know what's on T.V. Ridiculous idea.

Well it's November 30th and TV guide is NOT ON LINE. My subscription has not expired and I did not receive the "Personalized letter" outlining the details of my subscription as promised
There is no way to contact them on the site and I have been left high and dry.

tvguide.ca is finally up. But it is nothing more than a crude port of the MSN tv listings. I mean, I already had access to that! (http://tv.msn.com/tv/guide/)
They did nothing new; adding NOTHING. No movie searches, no reminders, no notifiers, NOTHING. What a rip! I am not a happy camper.

It ticks me off - TV Guide - takes my money and gives me nada....renewed my subscription on Nov 3 2006 for 52 Issues, received 2 issues of TV guide and then nothing. I did not receive a 'personalized letter' either. Will I ever get my money back?? Probably never...just print 'sucker' across my forehead...

I find the online totally useless. I cannot select just the stations want to watch and also cannot find a way to print anything. As it is, a two-hour timeframe does not cut it.
There's better online guides out there BY FAR!
Back to the drawing board TV Guide. Better yet, go back to paper.

Very bad decision on TV Guide's part.I too have not received my "personalized letter" from them or any type of refund as I was also a paid subscriber.Now what???

Why not do both? Some people feel comfortable with online viewing as I am but we all know that computers, the local internet companies and internet websites crash or go down from time to time, what then? I still would like to get it in another format if online is not available and I am positive the people who do not have computer access would pleased as well. It would be indeed silly to stop printing when maybe more than half of TV views don't have computer access or to be bothered/stressed to go through endless links to find the show that they watch to unwind.

I will miss the print edition of TV Guide, especially the FALL PREVIEW issues which I looked forward to each year. I wan't too interested in the online edition, but thought I would check it out today. What a disapointment. Just a lame redirect to the Sympatica MNS site which was totally uselss!

Terrible Idea! TV Guide has been around for a long time, catering all sorts of people... some do not have Internet... Oh I get it, its all about catering to the younger viewers forget about the ones that have been faithful readers for years and years... Good Luck on that! I liked the hemming and hawing in the editor's note about how this was all for the best. Why not come out and treat the readers with the honesty they deserve? TV Guide has been losing money hand over fist since a) changing to a format that does not include the overnight viewing hours, and b) eliminating local editions in favor of one national one. The truth of the matter is they tried to fix what wasn't broken and they lost the gamble. TV Guide may be online now, but as far as I'm concerned it no longer exists.

This is absurd...!
My grandmother is confused to hell right now wondering how she is going to find out what is on TV this week. I didnt know this was true until I went to 3 stores today trying to get her a TV Guide....everyone says its sold out, and no one knows any different. Online is fine for this generation, but what about all the confused elderly without computers...! Figures its MSN...another Microsoft Monopoly....bs

I am very disappointed that TV guide is not publishing a paper edition anymore. How foolish, ludicrous, witless and asinine for a magazine to do. I think that if it had only been read by teenagers or young adults, much like the rag mags, then that would be a wise decision. (People who are attached at the hip to their computers.) But for many older and elderly people (who in fact make up approximately 20 percent of Canada's viewing public) this comes as a huge detriment to their TV viewing pleasure. I am not an older person and I went to buy a copy last week, only to be dismayed that I had inadvertently purchased a copy from 2 or 3 weeks ago in my haste at the till. Big help that was. Kudos to your brainless ideas.

Do people actually rely on Tv guide to plan their week? If they do they watch too much tv. I watch certain shows but they are always on at the same time each week. Personally I only know of one person without a computer. Computers and internet are the way of the world. Its not just for the younger generation. So stop with all of your that was a stupid idea becuase if you can come to this page and trash tv guide then you can certainly look up your beloved tv times!!!

For those who have received a refund, can you tell me how you arranged for this? I bought a subscription for an elderly lady...it doesn't expire until Sept 2007. She doesn't recall getting any letters about refunds...and I haven't received anything either. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

I absolutely hate it that TV Guide has been cancelled. I also purchase the ExpressVu mag, but it does not have the details that the TV Guide did, re content of program, whether weekly, or movie. Also miss new upcoming shows for Fall. Give us back the old and keep the computer for yourselves. I hate it.

I do not like having to sit in front of the computer to find out what I want to see. I want to relax in front of the TV, not sit at the computer in another room. I work on the computer all day, I don't want to be on it at night/weekend. I want to plan my week ahead and it's not because I watch too much TV. I want to to be able to tape certain programs that I am interested in so I can view them with out commercials. I am not elderly, but my mother is and she can't figure out the TV times or other free TV listings that are available, and she does not have on screen programming, neither do I, and she does not have a computer. So who is TV Guide really interested in helping and who is this decision best for? I very much doubt that they were loosing money! They still have my money and I didn't get my letter or refund. What a scam!

I am shocked that you stopped sending me my TV GUIDE. No letter, no notice, no phone call. One week it just ended. I subscribed to TV Guide and I feel you have to reemburse everyone who subsrcibed to you. This is the dumbest thing you have ever come up with. What about people who depended on TV Guide, all people don't own computers.SHAME ON YOU!

I too have not received the promised replacement magazines, which I find very disgusting, a form of fraud in my eyes. Anyone know of a lawyer that would like to start a class action law suite?

What are they thinking?? I don't understand why they could continue to produce a print version in the US and not here! I am very frustrated and would like some kind of clarification from them. Has anyone received their magazine yet??

Any idea how to get our refund? TV Guide had no right taking our money when they knew they were folding at the end of November. They said "don't contact us" as letters and refunds would automatically be send out. Well, here it is the end of January and I don't have a letter or a refund and they no longer have a website to contact them.

For refund or magazine extension, call the publisher Transcontinental @ 416-733-7600. I called today (Feb 19th) since it will be almost 3 months waiting for refund versus the promised 3-4 weeks. Wish me luck.

I received Homemakers magazine today in the mail. I wasn't very happy with the magazine; thank goodness I will only be receiving two copies as my subscription to TV Guide was almost over.

Received our refund check for almost a full year this winter while in Fla....It says VOID after 90 days, so the Bank won't cash it.????? what do I do next.???? Sure is dirty business !!!! My hubby is handicapped and does not use a computer and sure does miss it.
