Also, another service called EventJar has been using automated crawlers to build databases of local events for years.

I ran into an excellent article written by Jane Lea of Lodi California. She commented on the lack of readership and subscriptions to Marty Weybret's Lodi News Sentinel. What is really lacking at the Sentinel is true genuine leadership. Unfortunatley Marty Weybret has set himself as a self-appointed expert at leadership evaluation. Unfortunately, Marty knows little or nothing about leadership let alone effective leadership. His failing newspaper business is the product of his inability to effectively lead. Marty was raised as a rich kid in the Lodi area having his diaper changed well into his adult years. Unfortunately individuals like Marty who are raised with a silver spoon in their mouth have little or no regard for the average citizen. Marty who has done his best to redeem his tarnished image in the town of Lodi posts pictures of himself giving little trinkets and toys to underprivileged children in an attempt to give the impression that he is somewhat of a person who "puts others first." Marty's political fabrication is the laugh of the town, not only over here in Woodbridge but in the Lodi vicinity at large.
