Bloggers get press seats at Scooter Libby trial
For the first time in a federal court, two of the seats set aside for media will be reserved for bloggers next week when I. Lewis "Scooter" Libbey, Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff, goes to trial on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice opens next week.
After two years of negotiations with judicial officials across the country, the Media Bloggers Association, a nonpartisan group with about 1,000 members working to extend the powers of the press to bloggers, has won credentials to rotate among his members.

Mr Dutson owns the (client-less) web company - "Maine Coast Design". He has ingratiated himself with Bob Cox by offering Mr Cox his services for free.
I have been following Lance Dutson's blog for some time, and have found that most or all of his accusations are brazenly untrue .... untruths about which he has repeatedly been made aware. He has even admitted to knowing that some are inaccurate, but these admissions eventually disappear... and off he goes again, on another rant.
Lance Dutson came out of the gate swinging, and has consistently and pugilistically ignored any invitation to reasonable discourse.
Mr Dutson's champion, Robert Cox, informs me that he has never even read Dutson's blog. I find this, if true, to be an act of extreme negligience.
If you did read Dutson's blog, you would see that the headlines are never corroborated by fact, but rather, link only to more of his own accusations, or even to documents which actually CONTRADICT these accusations.
Apparently, people only read the headlines, and nothing else. And they thoughtlessly believe them.
But Dutson appears to get the most gratification out of making searingly vicious personal attacks on total strangers whom he somehow perceives as enemies. And this list grows longer every day.
If anyone disagrees with him in a comment, he turns his hatred on that commenter, with more vicious lies - about him/her. (Or he deletes the comment entirely. )
His behavior is that of a web troll, and nothing more. I find it unfathomable that anyone would assign a seat at the Libby trial, and its resultant journalistic credibility, to someone without ever having checked his credentials.
Web trolls should be eliminated - not elevated.

I'm still lost, for Libby to be charged with exposing a CIA agent the statute requires the CIA to acknowledge that the individual was actually an undercover agent, does anyone know the date the CIA pubicly disclosed this? If not the hushband can also be charged for exposing an agent since he chose to go on CNN and make the allegations.

I don't think it should be made a big deal of the fact that bloggers will be witnesses to one of the biggest trials in recent times. The important thing is that everyone from bloggers to anchors should be covering this trial. The important issue here is that the president and his staff were lying to the American people and the press didn't do anything to stop them, it is only now that they starting to wake up and criticizing the administration.

There is an update to this story...Cox admits that he did read Dutson's blog up until May of 2006, but since then he has only "Skimmed" it.
I have emails from him admitting this.
We all begged him for help (and sanity), but he only used our inside info, led us on, and then dropped the bomb on us.
This could only happen in Maine, but Dutson has destroyed the careers of several innocent victims, one of whom is a very good friend of mine. Dann Lewis has lost his position, and now Dutson is cyber stalking him to his new position.
