Local election guide uses Google's new My Maps
The Charleston (W.Va.) Gazette has just rolled out a multimedia guide for an upcoming city election that includes an interactive Google Map, a Flash guide to candidate questionnaires and other helpful goodies.
Dave Gustafson tells CyberJournalist.net: "I wanted to dip my toe into Google Maps for a while. This seemed like a good excuse since city leaders often gripe that nobody knows which ward includes their house. To create the interactive map, I used Google Maps' new My Maps feature and drew the ward boundaries by hand. It is accurate down to which side of the street your house is on."
