Talking 'bout Harry Potter

It's always interesting, and often surprising, to see what topics foster the best online conversation.

One of the better conversations on this site recently was about Harry Potter -- not great online work, but about what happened in the book.

Meanwhile, it's not surprisingly a hot topic elsewhere.

J.K. Rowling got more than 120,000 questions in the live chat she did online July 30. (She didn't answer them all!)

The publisher's site also webcast a live reading of the book by Rowling at the Natural History Museum in London the night the book was released. You can watch the archived webcast here.

Lawrence Journal-World artist Karl Gehring bought the book at midnight the night it was released and chatted online through a marathon reading of it. After every chapter, Gehring wrote his impressions interacted with other late-night Potterphiles about the end of the franchise.
