Citizens Media Summit at APME
J-Lab: The Institute for Interactive Journalism, in conjunction with the Associated Press Managing Editors, will hold a one-day Citizens Media Summit Oct. 2, prior to the start of the conference.
Want to start your own community news site? Ready to wrangle citizens into writing for you? Hear how others are doing it -- from Brattleboro to Baristanet and Bakersfield. Backfence.com will share lessons to be learned. And Rob Curley will give an inside look at the washingtonpost.com's Loudoun Extra.
The summit will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the conference hotel, the JW Marriott at 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. Registration is only $50 for APME members (lunch included), $90 for non-APME members.
