The three reasons people share news online

Fascinating new research finds that readers are most likely to share three types of articles online: (1) articles with positive rather than negative themes, (2) long articles on intellectually challenging topics, and (3)  articles that inspired awe. These findings are from University of Pennsylvania researchers who studied the New York Times list of most-e-mailed articles.
