WNYC launches ’30 Issues Wiki’

As part of a “30 ISSUES” election series, the Brian Lehrer Show is inviting listeners to collaborate on the segments by using a wiki site.

The show says:

The list of topics the series will explore were submitted and voted on by listeners. Now, during the six-week series, listeners will collaboratively produce each Friday’s segment through wiki pages for 6 issues: finding the angles, suggesting guests, recommending background source material, and even submitting questions for Lehrer to ask the guests.  The participatory 30 Issues Wiki can be found at issues.wnyc.org/wiki.

To help strike an ideological balance, conservative blogger Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit and liberal blogger Amanda Michel of The Huffington Post will serve as consultants throughout the series.

“We started crowdsourcing about a year ago,” said Brian Lehrer.  “We had a lot of success comparing the prices of groceries around the five boroughs, and again counting SUV’s in different neighborhoods.  Americans have been engaged in this election like few others; convention viewership was at an all-time high.  Just think of what we can come up with when we turn that interest into investigative energy.”
